Who we are
uContend LTD (company number 00112233), 10 Downing Street, is the controller for personal data used to provide accounts, security, billing, support, site administration and uContend's public sports-discovery service.
A competition organiser is normally the controller for personal data it chooses to collect about applicants, team contacts, referees or officials. uContend processes that data for the organiser. Contact the organiser first about its registration questions or event records; we will help it respond where required.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information generated when you use the service, and limited information received from organisers or services you choose to connect.
- Account and profile details, including name, email, password hash, locale, timezone, notification choices and authentication settings.
- Organisation, team and competition roles; follows; fixtures, results, announcements and other activity.
- Registration contact details, team information, answers, acceptance records and uploaded logos.
- Public content such as organisation and team profiles, venue details, sponsors, media and presentation content.
- Plan, subscription, entry-payment and refund records. Stripe handles full card details.
- Support and security communications, audit records, IP address, browser/device information, session activity and trusted-device records.
- A verified name, email address and provider identifier when you choose Google or Apple sign-in.
How and why we use information
UK data-protection law requires a lawful basis for each use.

Who sees or receives information
We do not sell personal data and do not use it for targeted advertising. We disclose only what is needed for the purposes described here.
- Information an organiser publishes may be visible to anyone on public competition, team, organisation, search, display and results pages.
- Authorised organisers, team administrators and officials can see operational information relevant to their role.
- Stripe processes payments; Google and Apple provide optional sign-in; hosting, storage and email suppliers run the service; and Photon/OpenStreetMap supplies venue-search results.
- Professional advisers, courts, regulators or public authorities may receive information where reasonably necessary or legally required.
- A buyer or successor may receive relevant information during a genuine corporate transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
International transfers
Some suppliers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK law treats that as a restricted transfer, we use an applicable adequacy regulation or contractual safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
How long we keep information
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected. Account and organiser workspace data is generally kept while the account or competition remains active. We may then retain limited records for security, dispute resolution, legal claims, sporting-record integrity and tax or accounting duties.
Short-lived verification and sign-in records expire according to their security purpose. Guest follow records expire after 365 days of inactivity or are merged and removed when you sign in. When deletion is appropriate, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the information.
Your data rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, transfer information you provided, or explain how it is used. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful use.
To request your data or ask us to delete it, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. Rights can be limited where law requires retention, another person’s rights are involved, or the request relates to organiser-controlled records; in that case we may refer the request to the organiser.
Privacy complaints
Email [email protected] with the details of your concern. We will acknowledge a data-protection complaint within 30 days, investigate it without undue delay and tell you the outcome.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address the concern first.
Children
You must be at least 16 to create a uContend account. Organisers must not use uContend to collect special-category data or individually identifiable information about children under 16 unless uContend has agreed in writing and appropriate notices, lawful authority and safeguards are in place.
Public team names, age divisions and competition results may relate to youth sport without identifying an individual child. If you believe a child has been identified inappropriately, contact us.
Security and automated decisions
We use access controls, hashed credentials and tokens, encrypted transport, rate limits, audit records, malware-aware upload handling and other proportionate safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
uContend does not make solely automated decisions about people that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Scheduling and competition calculations support organisers, who remain responsible for their operational decisions.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the service, suppliers or law changes. We will update the effective date and give reasonable notice of a material change where appropriate.
